A LITTLE BIT ABOUT TINA
Tina follows the philosophy of Cesar Millan. Trust, Respect and Love.
Her passion to empower clients to build a calm, confident, loving life for their pets has led her to create A Dog’s Compass;. She is the physical manifestation of her motto, “Take the lead.”
Founder, Christina Claas (Tina), has transformed her dream into a reality. Starting from an early age she loved the family cats, dogs, rabbits and chickens. Her parents always encouraged her to expand her knowledge of all animals.
At the age of 21, without any prior equestrian experience, she brought home two yearling horses. Training the yearlings was one of the most impactful and empowering moments of her life; she learned dedication, consistency and patience. Building trust and respect with a large animal such as a horse is an honor. Her horses went on many fun adventures from camping to competition opportunities with team penning and gymkhana. This experience gave her an unshakeable foundation. Tina thought, if she could intuitively train unbroken horses, she knew she could instruct dogs in a way that builds confidence, trust and joy.
Tina’s intuitive abilities to “know” what an animal needs had taken her far, allowing her to help many dogs and their owners shift from chaos to calm. To take her skills to the next level, Tina ambitiously set her sights on being taught by one of the best trainers in the world, master trainer Ceaser Milan.
With support from her incredible husband and sons, Tina packed her bags and headed to Santa Clarita to be mentored by Cesar Millan. At Cesar’s Dog Psychology Center, she also trained under Yoa Cristobal (The Dog Guru of Puerto Rico), Todd Langston, Heather Mickelson, Art Ortiz, Lisa Porter and Michael Burke.
Tina, currently offers in person, 1:1 training sessions, video consultations, pack walks and boarding for her premium clients.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Kimberly, Dog Owner
Thank you, Christina Claas for your guidance and support.
Our Ruby has released her anxiety of car rides and is now calm and confident (like her Mama).
Thanks to you, I have stronger boundaries and a deeper understanding of how to be an effective pack leader!
Your training continues to be a journey of joy and exploration; I have a better understanding of myself and my dog.
For those of you who are looking for an intuitive animal whisper who also happens to be a Cesar Milan certified dog (ahem- people;) trainer- you can stop looking because you just found her.
Ruby and I adore you Tina!!!
Karen, Dog Owner
This is Maisey (pronounced like the dept store), we adopted her from a shelter in Oakland. We have had her 5 years now. She loves going for walks around our neighborhood (she has her dog pals she sees) and enjoys our dog park in Castro Valley. She gets very excited to go in the car as it means fun is coming or we are going to visit grandma.

Maisey is very smart and she had some baggage when we adopted her. We tried several tricks and various treats to stop her from running while barking every time to the door when someone rang the door bell.

Finally with Tina’s help and guidance , a little more than an hour with us, she has stopped running while barking at the door when someone comes to visit us. This took 1 session of training with her and especially with me. Now she obeys so much better with us and does not run at the door like she did prior to Tina. Tina explained to me the psychology of my dog with interacting with me pack mentality. Lastly Maisey doesn’t go on furniture anymore.
Tina was great and is very talented with the animals. I highly recommend Tina to work with you and your animal.
